Joseph Haecker (JH): Erika, first off — welcome, and thank you for taking the time to sit down with us. Every time we’ve corresponded, you’ve been bouncing between live events, interviews, red carpets, and client calls. It’s clear how much heart and hustle you pour into what you do. And I have to say — congratulations! You’ve now represented back-to-back Only Fans Insider Magazine Cover Models with Lauren Phillips in October and MagxNumb in November — an incredible accomplishment. For those who might not know you yet, can you share a little about yourself and what The Rub PR does?

Thank you, Joseph, for all that you’ve done for our clients. We really appreciate it.

2026 marks 20 years in the industry for me. I started as a DVD buyer, and one of my vendors asked me to do PR on a consultant basis. From there, I worked in PR for multiple studios before founding The Rub PR in 2008.

What don’t we do?! LOL, we focus on press releases, interviews, and awards. But we also secure our clients’ toy deals, ambassador gigs, magazine placements, signing opportunities at trade shows, presenting awards, being on panels, their own podcasts, and much more.

Many clients appreciate working with us because we’re a woman-owned company that produces results and genuinely cares not only about our clients’ success but also their overall well-being.

JH: You’ve built such a respected reputation for championing adult creators, performers, and brands. Can you walk us through what it takes to manage PR in this space — the day-to-day challenges, the creative wins, and how you help your clients stand out in such a competitive industry?

There are many challenges—the biggest being to keep everyone happy and their expectations realistic. My team and I work A LOT. Our clients are nominated and win the most awards of any PR firm. We work hard on submissions and fan voting. Nominations and wins are essential to their resumes, as well as the amount of work they receive.

JH: The adult creator landscape has evolved dramatically, especially with platforms like OnlyFans giving performers direct access to their audience. From your perspective, how has this shift impacted both creators and PR professionals? Do you think creators are now thinking more like brands — and how do you guide them through that transition?

Yes, creators are more brand-based, but this has more to do with social media than the creator platforms themselves. Social media was how fans first learned to engage with performers, and sites like OnlyFans brought it to a new level. Before that, they would have to attend trade shows to meet their favorite performers.

Fans having more access to their favorite performers and creators is a double-edged sword. Daily, I’m genuinely shocked by what fans say on X and Instagram. Keyboard warrior culture is something else, and it’s a lot for girls to deal with. I also have to ensure that all interviews are routed through me. Fans will start podcasts just to talk to the girls for free, rather than paying to subscribe to their platforms, which is pretty wild.

JH: At Only Fans Insider Magazine, we’ve worked hard to redefine what coverage looks like for creators — focusing on storytelling, professionalism, and mainstream-quality exposure. How do you think platforms like ours compare to traditional media outlets when it comes to giving your clients the visibility they deserve?

You give your audience a firsthand creator experience and offer strategies for success. It’s a behind-the-scenes view for fans and those looking to get into the industry, which is very cool. You also spotlight the community and aren’t spewing a bunch of fluff and asking girls when they lost their virginity and/or what their favorite position is, which are, BTW, questions they’re sick of answering repeatedly. I don’t think anybody is doing what you’re doing, and we enjoy working with you and your team.

JH: You’ve been at this long enough to have seen the industry evolve through every trend, controversy, and innovation. Where do you see things heading next — not just for PR, but for creators and adult entertainment as a whole? Are there new opportunities you’re excited about?

This is probably not the answer you want to hear, but platforms like OnlyFans are on the way out. I think we’ll see a return to official sites, similar to those we used to have, where creators and performers have more control over their content. Many paid platforms have terminated creators for minor infractions, such as paperwork issues. They forget that the adult arena built them, not the mainstream. My friend AJ, who owns Elevated X, has seen a significant increase in people wanting to create their own sites to bypass this kind of red tape.

I also see a rise in phone sex and sites like SextPanther and Minx. The girls are making a killing on calls, sexting, etc. It seems old school is new again. I don’t know if I’m excited about these things, but I hate to see people getting their accounts deleted.

I am happy that more people like you are delving into social media and creating spaces for us, especially since Instagram is deleting so many performer and creator accounts. Your Sxgram.com looks amazing!

JH: Erika, thank you again for joining us — and congratulations once more on such a stellar run. Two cover models back-to-back is no small feat. Before we wrap up, what advice would you give to creators who are considering hiring a publicist or investing in PR? And finally, how can people learn more about The Rub PR and get in touch with you?

Thank you! We couldn’t have done it without you.

Be sure you do your research before hiring a publicist. There are only a few legit publicists in the adult industry. Ask around to other people who have publicists and get referrals. Don’t get catfished by a fake publicist. Also, check out my column on Medium for erikaicon.medium.com.

I’m excited to be relaunching our site, therubpr.com, in the next few weeks. It’s been a long time coming. Link to everything The Rub PR at allmylinks.com/therubpr.

Onlyfans is complicated

Featuring: Bailey Madison

I just want to say thank you to onlyfans insider magazine for providing this platform for the content creator industry. Im Bailey Madison. Im not a creator, but i do a lot of work in the online social media space. I built the website www.howtoonlyfans.net. after making some onlyfans creator business plans for some friend. It became very obvious the onlyfans industry needed a resource like howtoonlyfans after helping some friends get started with their content creator businesses. It took a lot of research but i think it was worth it to make a website that covers many of the issues that content creators face.

Inside German-Adult-News: A Legacy of Independent Adult Media

Featuring: Tom Berger

Thanks for having me! I’m Tom Berger, the Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of German-Adult-News, a long-standing digital magazine that covers culture, trends, and the creator economy within the adult entertainment space. I’ve been working in online media for more than two decades, and I founded our platform back in 2001 to give creators, industry professionals, and emerging talent a place where their stories can be told with professionalism and journalistic integrity. German-Adult-News is a fully online, free-to-read B2C publication. As a German media outlet, we operate under national youth-protection guidelines and maintain an age rating comparable to FSK16, meaning all our content follows standards similar to a PG-13 framework—informative, respectful, and non-explicit. Our goal is to make industry insights and cultural perspectives accessible without crossing into graphic detail. Over the years, our coverage has expanded into many areas of the entertainment world. We feature creators who use platforms like OnlyFans, but we also report on production companies, directors, producers, and the behind-the-scenes landscape. We cover international film releases, industry developments, and related lifestyle topics such as sex-positive culture and modern pleasure products—always from a culture-focused and journalistic point of view. While we’re not a content studio ourselves, our role in the ecosystem is to spotlight the people and companies shaping today’s creator landscape and to offer context that helps audiences better understand the creative work happening across platforms. In short, I run a digital magazine dedicated to telling meaningful stories about creators, companies, and the evolving culture of online entertainment—and I’m excited to share more with your readers.
