Before we talk about your soon-to-be-released podcast episode, let’s take a step back and give readers some context. Who are you, what kind of content do you focus on, and how did this all begin for you? Looking back, what were the turning points that helped define your style, your audience, and your overall brand?
Hi! Well I’m Kasey Kei. A multi award winning trans pornstar. My start to pornhood goes back 7 years. I’ve always lowkey idolized doing porn. I was an avid porn consumer. But I never felt like I was cut out to be a pornstar. I couldn’t imagine myself being vulnerable being naked on camera none the less fucking on camera. That all changed when I transitioned at the age of 22. I embraced my sexuality with my newfound gender and took porn by storm.
Your podcast episode just dropped, and there’s a lot of buzz around it. Can you tell us which show you were on, who the hosts were, and what the main focus of the conversation ended up being? I’m also curious how the whole thing came together in the first place—was this something you pitched, or did they reach out to you?
And Now We Drink! Hosted by the very cool Matt Slayer. Matt had reached out to my PR agent Erika Icon and that date was made. I say date because Matt and I had the most lovely convo. Like two friends grabbing a drink and shooting the shit. Because that’s the whole basis for his podcast. You drink and chat. So a whiskey diet in hand Matt and I got existential. Fulfillment in life. Regrets before dying. Matt and I got deep. And of course you can’t forget, porn.

Now that the episode is out, I’m curious about what it was like behind the scenes. Was this recorded in person, remotely, or as part of an event? What was the atmosphere like before the mics went live, and did anything about the setup surprise you?
Oh it was in person. Met Matt at his quaint home with his studio set up right inside. An intimate setting. He offered me a whiskey diet (which I had requested before hand) and he had a scotch to sip. We got our headset, did a sound check, and we were set to record his podcast. It was a very chill environment. Really like hanging out with a homie. I don’t think anything surprised me besides how cool it was just talking with Matt. We talked for hours.
Going into the episode, did you have a clear idea of what you wanted to say, or did you mostly let the conversation take its own path? Now that it’s out, is there anything you wish you’d explained differently, gone deeper on, or maybe even left out?
Oh no I went in completely blind. Matt likes for conversations to just flow. For us to sip our drinks and just talk about whatever. Like two regular people. Would I have wished to have unpacked more in our conversation? I think Matt and I couldn’t talked maybe more about the trans experience and how life differs from a trans one and a cis one. Maybe see his insight from his view as a cis man and my thoughts on that. I think that could’ve been interesting.

With this latest podcast feature in the books, how do you think about media and visibility as part of your long-term strategy? What story are you trying to tell with your career, and what does the next chapter look like for you?
You know doing things like podcasts. The biggest thing for me is this gives my fans an opportunity to see me in a more intimate setting. Ironic because I have sex on camera for a living. But that doesn’t show the real me. I want my fans to get a glimpse into my life and hopefully connect with Kasey Kei on a deeper level. As time goes on I want to continue cultivating my career. Part of that cultivation is expanding on who Kasey Kei is. Podcasts have been a perfect opportunity for just that. I hope to be featured on many more this year!
