By Lila Monroe, Journalist for Only Fans Insider Magazine
It’s wild how one link can change the trajectory of your whole summer. That’s what happened to me. I was in Brooklyn, half-watching reruns of Sex and the City, scrolling mindlessly like we all do, when I stumbled across the job posting on Only Fans Insider Magazine’s Jobs page. I’d never even seen this job board before—quirky, off-grid, tucked away on a clean site that looked more like a digital journal than anything job-related. And yet… the title said it all: "Staff Writer. Editorial. First-person perspective encouraged. Feminine lens preferred."
I applied immediately.
A few days later, I met Ryder Vale—Only Fans Insider’s first journalist and the man whose editorials had already built the early tone of this new, strange, beautiful magazine. Our interview didn’t feel like an interview. It felt like meeting the first person who understood my curiosity about the human side of creators. We talked about storytelling, narrative tension, and how journalism could evolve beyond clickbait to become something people felt emotionally connected to.
By June 19th, I was officially part of the team.
My first article, "Emma Magnolia: The Bold Bloom of Digital Desire," was published on July 3rd. I still remember the back-and-forth with Joseph Haecker, our Editor-in-Chief. Joseph didn’t ask me to write fluff—he asked me to write what I felt. He helped me polish the structure, but the voice? That was mine. Emma’s story made me realize just how powerful it could be to tell the full story of creators—who they are, not just what they post.
Since then, my voice has only sharpened, and even Ryder jokes that my long-winded style is rubbing off on him (in the best way).
Working with Joseph and Ryder has taught me more in six weeks than I learned in six months of previous editorial work. And the best part?
We’re only just getting started.
A Milestone Moment: An Interview with Joseph Haecker
Lila Monroe: Joseph, let’s start with the numbers. When the magazine launched on May 14th, did you imagine we’d be at 1.3 million social views, 4.7 million article views, and an average read time of over eleven minutes by July 30th?
Joseph Haecker: Honestly, no. I knew there was a gap in the market for meaningful coverage of content creators, but the response has been overwhelming. The fact that our average read time is 11 minutes and 13 seconds says everything—people, fans, want these stories. They want more than a caption. They want context.
Lila: And they’re reading an average of 4.9 articles per visit. That’s not just curiosity—it’s community.
Joseph: Exactly. They are discovering content creators by reading the magazine. The articles themselves are a gateway to a community. And we’re just beginning to build that community infrastructure.
In August, we’ll be launching our Chapters Program—our way of creating real-world, human networks of content creators. The digital side is strong, but we believe in eye contact, shared meals, and the power of being seen in person.
Lila: Speaking of being seen—we’ve had creators message us saying this was the first time they felt like they had a place to share their story. How does that land with you?
Joseph: That’s everything. That’s why we’re here. We’ve had our content flagged on every major platform—even though we’re PG-13 by design—just because we dare to talk about OnlyFans creators as human beings.
We’ve appealed, pushed back, and continued publishing. Because creators deserve better than silence.
Lila: You’ve also built a team that’s small but mighty. What’s it been like working around the clock, sometimes literally, and then giving us 3-day weekends to recover?
Joseph: [laughs] I believe in rest because I believe in team first. Burned-out people can’t tell good stories. And they can't serve our community if you're not well rested.
You and Ryder have pushed hard, and we’ve seen that reflected in the writing. We’ve also added incredible voices to our Advisory Board—Lucy Banks, Kevin O’Connor, and a couple of others we can’t name just yet, but they’re heavy-hitters.
Lila: I feel like that board is helping shape our next chapter. And speaking of chapters, can we talk about our new Lifestyle Section? We’ve added Travel & Adventure, LGBTQ+, Tattoo & Ink, Alt Lifestyle, and Cosplay. It feels like a natural expansion.
Joseph: It is. These are the corners of the creator community that people want more of. The cosplay community is massive and largely untapped in terms of press. LGBTQ+ stories matter deeply, and are greatly underrepresented from a media, press, perspective. The ink and alt lifestyle spaces are about more than aesthetic—they’re about identity.
We want to give each niche a place to breathe. And honestly, each new section allows creators to be featured multiple times across different categories.
Lila: And we’re not just telling stories—we’re helping creators build business models. Let’s talk about the Affiliate Program.
Joseph: Right now, creators can earn by referring other creators and readers to the magazine. We’re building the tools so that our platform works with them, not just about them. And that also feeds into the eBooks, the brand guides, and our local chapters program. It’s about creating longevity, community and opportunity.
Lila: We were featured next to Tim Stokely, the founder of OnlyFans. I mean… that’s legacy.
Joseph: That was a surreal moment. But it validated everything we’ve been doing.
People are noticing that we’re not trying to “cover” creators like gossip. We’re giving them space. We’re not a news agency, or "entertainment news"—we’re a platform for voices. Your story, in your words. We just help you get it in front of a collective audience, so you can control your personal brand narrative. And share your story the way you want it told.
Lila: What excites you most about August?
Joseph: The partnerships we’re about to announce. The creator campaigns, the collaborations, the features… it’s going to be the biggest month yet. And I think it’ll be the moment the community really understands that this isn’t just a publication. It’s a launchpad.
Lila: Any final message to the creator community?
Joseph: We see you. We hear you. And this platform was built for you.
Whether you’re just starting or have millions of fans, your voice matters. Let us help you share it.
Lila’s Thoughts:
When I clicked that job link, I had no idea I was joining a movement. Only Fans Insider Magazine isn’t just a publication—it’s a cultural shift. From Emma Magnolia to Jem & Daz, Shayna Holt to Ari Kytsya, these are the stories that don’t get told anywhere else. And we’re just warming up.
To the creators out there: we’re ready for your story. Whenever you are.
