From fake brand deals to phishing links, “management” offers that aren’t real, and too-good-to-be-true opportunities—scams are everywhere in the content creator space. And they’re getting smarter. The word scam itself has been around since the 1960s, rooted in slang for “scheme,” but the practice of deceiving others for gain is as old as trade itself.

In today’s digital creator economy, scams have taken on new forms:

• Fake Agencies: Offering to “manage” your account for a fee or percentage, but never delivering results.
